SARATOGA SPRINGS – The 19th annual Marini Builders Siro’s Cup to benefit the Center for Disability Services is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Siro’s Restaurant at 168 Lincoln Ave.

Renowned sports artist James Fiorentino has done a painting of City Zip, the favorite horse of this year’s honoree, trainer Linda Rice, the first woman to win a Saratoga training title.

Rice is being honored for her contribution to the racing industry, her professional accomplishments at the Saratoga and her role as an ambassador for the sport. Many top jockeys and trainers will be on hand.

This is the 10th consecutive year that Fiorentino has donated a painting. Other pieces he’s done have been featured jockey Bailey, the racehorse Cigar and area philanthropist Marylou Whitney’s horse, Birdstone. Entertainment until 11 p.m. will be provided by the Electric City under an open-air tent, giving guests the opportunity to dance. There will also be a cocktail buffet and an open bar. Siro’s Cup will be held rain or shine.

This annual event benefits the Center for Disability Services Foundation in support of adult services, center health care, Clover Patch Camp, Clover Patch Pre-School, Langan School, residential services and St. Margaret’s Center.

The center is a resource for people of all ages who have disabilities or health-related conditions. It has a 70-year history in the Capital Region and beyond and is known as the place where people get better at life.

Honorary chairpersons are George and Christine Hearst and Barry and Sara Lee Larner. Bob and Monica Marini chair the 2012 Siro’s Cup Committee.

Tickets are $125 per person by Wednesday, July 18, or $1,100 for a group of 10 tickets. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome and tickets at the door are $150.
